Virtual Business Analyst Training
Customers have asked us to train their teams virtually while everyone is working from home and unable to travel during the pandemic. We think this style of training will be helpful to global companies even after things return to normal.
We literally wrote the book.
Our secret sauce is the product management approach we bring to 100% of our projects. We’ve published two books on product management techniques and contributed to three industry guides, and we love sharing what we’ve learned.
The Benefits of Requirements Training
At ArgonDigital, we know you are the kind of people who want to deliver successful software solutions that users adopt and generate business value. In order to deliver that, you need teams who consistently apply business analysis and product management methodologies to their projects.
The problem is teams often have different backgrounds, experiences, skills, and techniques, and even if you train them, it’s not always guaranteed that they will adopt the concepts.
We believe managers should be able to bring together smart and capable people and that those teams will deliver excellent results in a consistent manner without having to micromanage them. It’s also not ok to let your teams flounder without giving them the tools and support they need to succeed.
That’s why ArgonDigital help managers stop their teams from delivering wasteful solutions by training them how to meet the organization’s business objectives.
Here’s how it works – schedule a call with one of our training experts to evaluate your business requirements health. Together, we’ll determine if we are the right fit to help grow your team. Then we will help you define your desired outcomes, create a training and coaching vision, and recommend a solution to achieve it. After training, we’ll circle back to measure the success of it with you.
At the end of the day, this is what business requirements training and coaching is all about.
Frequently Asked Questions
ArgonDigital was formed out of a merger of a few companies, including ReqExperts and Seilevel, who both have been doing business analysis, product management, and systems engineering for 20+ years. Most of our business has been centered on performing this kind of work for a variety of clients the entire time.
All of our courses are taught by an experienced Product Manager who hones their skills every day executing business analysis services for our clients. We believe that to be successful teaching a class, you must have lived the experience of eliciting, specifying, and managing requirements. Our instructors provide real examples and scenarios that push students to think about requirements on their own projects.
Our clients come to us for the experience we have acquired working with Fortune 1000 clients over the past 20+ years. They come from all backgrounds, from the financial sector to aerospace engineering. We find that this type of work doesn’t require previous industry-domain experience, particularly in teaching the techniques. If it’s helpful, some customers have asked us to adopt examples and exercise to be specific to their domain.
ArgonDigital has focused on developing a standardized and easy process for requirements development for many years; ultimately publishing an award-winning book and developing the RML™ that we incorporate in our training series. Joy Beatty, our COO that has been with the company for over 18 years, co-authored Visual Models for Software Requirements with President, Anthony Chen, incorporating ArgonDigital methodologies for a fine-tuned requirements process. As the main creator of our training materials, Joy has extensive experience in requirements development and is a leader in the business analysis community.
With that, our content is typically methodology agnostic. The techniques work in everything from waterfall to agile projects. We explain in each course how to adapt them accordingly. Of course, some of our clients have asked us to teach agile-focused classes, so we have that content readily available as well.
To provide the most effective learning environment, we encourage the use of frequent exercises throughout all of our training courses. We have developed a variety of drills as part of our class structure that each student participates in, and roughly 60% of class time is spent doing exercises that reinforce core concepts.
Our courses are interactive and engaging to help students retain the lessons. Our instructors use real world examples to convey learning material, which helps students better conceptualize how to apply techniques to their own projects. Our instructors are all ArgonDigital-certified class instructors that spend 90% of their time working on client projects as consultants. We do not leverage professional trainers that are not actively engaged with client projects.
