A CTA is a very specific action that a marketer wants a prospect/customer to take (e.g. clicking a button, signing up for a newsletter, completing a survey) in response to communications/messaging to that person. CTAs are a key element of a marketing strategy as the actions generally align to the defined conversion goals for marketing campaigns. If CTAs aren’t clear or compelling enough to the audience, marketing efforts can fall flat as the customer will exit the funnel too early, preventing the marketer from gaining valuable information about the prospect/customer’s interests.
