Welcome to the Requirement Expert’s Blog!

Welcome to the Requirement Expert’s Blog.  In order to better address the needs of our clients and the requirements engineering world as a whole, RE is starting this blog.   RE’s basic approach to helping our clients to deliver a winning product the first time is to address best practices in requirement solicitation, requirement development, and requirement management.

Our best practices map directly to processes defined for the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Capability Maturity Model – Integrated (CMMI), or Project Management Institute (PMI).

RE does not favor one approach over another.  Whether you are following lean, agile, waterfall, modified waterfall, spiral, or increment approaches, the best practices we advocate will apply.  Whether you are developing hardware or software products, integrated hardware/software products, products for in-house use, or products for sale, whether commercial or government the best practices we advocate will apply.  Our processes have been presented and adopted across a wide variety of industries and government organizations.

Whether you are a manager, customer, procurement person, engineer, business analyst, requirements engineer, systems engineer, user, programmer, developer, tester, verifier, designer, coder you will be able to apply the best practices advocated by RE and discussed via this blog.

It is our goal that visitors to this blog will become actively involved in the discussions and help to further advance the best practices involved in requirements solicitation, development, and management.  Active participation involves our readers commenting on our blog posts.  In addition questions presented via  our “Ask the Experts” feature will be answered via posts on this blog.

Again, Welcome to the Requirement Experts Blog!
